My approach to individual psychotherapy is generally cognitive brief therapy. I assess for strengths and vulnerabilities, and focus my efforts in helping the individual to build upon strengths in ways that produce personal success and positive self identity. I build on whatever faith base one has, incorporating healing prayer, imagery, biblical truths, and skill development. I use personality assessment tools to target specific skill and traits that promote positive results based on client's overall goals.

Here at New Creations Counseling Center clients will benefit from our use of psychotherapy by learning how their past and prior experiences in life have contributed to the position that they are in currently. Clients will benefit by learning how to not stay stuck in their past traumas and hurts, but to be transformed by the power of Christ and His Word and truly experience that His Mercy is new everyday. Psychotherapy can be defined as "talk therapy." The main goal of this type therapy is to help people talk through their problems with the intent of them working through their issues. Our approach to the counseling process is a little different than this. We have more of a training process approach to helping people work through their problems. That training process involves taking a deeper look at the cause of their problems. Then we give Biblical counsel as to what a person can do to change their thinking about specific problems that will cause a change in their behavior.
