Chances are, your child is somewhat resistant to the idea of meeting with a counselor. I specialize in over-coming that resistance through the use of humor, silliness, and age appropriate anecdotes. Some counselors will spend a lot of time playing with your child--I won't. I'll certainly make them laugh during the process, but therapy with me won't be about us just "hanging out" and playing a board game together. You can also know that I would never undermine your authority as the parent. I believe that parents are to be respected, and, yes, obeyed. In addition to working with your child, I can also show you some ways to get your child's behavior within acceptable parameters.

Many times, child therapists overdo the family system in their quest to seek effective solutions for emotional, learning or behavioral concerns with young children. And many times doctors overpathologize issues that shouldn’t be medicated necessarily. This leaves parents wondering what is the best route for their child? Introducing brainwave optimization technology. A fast, effective, natural, and less expensive way to allow your child's brain to make the optimizing changes it desires to make---on its own! Without any external force, opinion, medication, diagnostic, etc. Contact kevin@kevinflemingphd.com or 877-606-6161.

It can be hard to be communicate with our children without our own emotions getting in the way. Sometimes our children just need to hear from someone else. Therapy can bridge this gap and provide an opportunity for parents and children to hear each other. I enjoy working with children and it is obvious to them when we meet. I let them set the pace and work to build trust so that you can work on your relationship with them and see improvement. Oftentimes, kids who are hesitant to speak to someone face-to-face will be ore willing to talk to a therapist online.
