Three public school boards manage education to high schools in Hamilton. These are the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board, the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board and the Conseil Scolaire De District Du Centre-Sud-Ouest has two French immersion schools. Artists are employed at the Dundas Valley School of Art which is an independent art school with students ranging from age four to senior citizens, with enrollment of over 4,000. A recent diploma program has partnered with McMaster University. Talent is honed at the Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts which results in actors, dancers, musicians and singers. Including a recital hall, the school has keyboard, dance, art and sculpting studios. Nearly 100 programs are available for ages ranging from preschool to over 90. McMaster University has nearly 30,000 enrolled students.1
Hamilton hosted the very first Commonwealth Games in 1930 being Canada’s first international athletic event. The Canadian Football League, Hamilton Tiger-Cats play at Ivor Wynne Stadium and the home of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame hosts an annual induction celebration event. Auto racing is enjoyed at the Cayuga International Speedway and Flamboro Speedway. The fastest half-mile harness horse race track at Flamboro Downs has been a very popular attraction. Near the John C. Munro International Airport is the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum which houses Canadian military aircraft which have been restored for historical significance. There is a lot of diversity here, with the most common religion in Hamilton being Christian.
Marriage and Couples Mental Health in Hamilton
A majority of 55% of Canadians said that it would be unlikely for them to enter a spousal relationship with a partner suffering from a mental illness.2 In Hamilton Ontario, 56.7% of citizens aged 15 and over were married or living with a common partner. Around 43% of the population was not married and these included individuals that were divorced, separated and widowed.3
In a given week, a minimum of 500,000 employed Canadians are unable to earn due to mental health problem.The economic burden and increased health care costs all contribute to marriage and couple problems affecting their quality of life.Around21.9% of renter households in Hamilton end up spending more than half of their income on shelter thereby increasing the risk of homelessness.4 Stress in families plays a part in increasing tobacco usage, which in return drastically affects the health of individuals. The financial stress and pressure is a major cause of divorce, relationship conflicts and other family problems like domestic abuse.

The service is dedicated in helping families with issues like job stress, relationship conflicts, childcare, separation, career counseling and the ability to balance work and family.
