Marriages are like a unique piece of china that has been dropped and broken. Imagine putting the pieces back together with a mixture of super glue and gold. The repairs are stronger than the original, and the piece is more honest in its beauty and complexity.

Brampton’s total land area is nearly 300 square kilometers. New development created urban sprawl communities. The greatest boom in 1999 had designated a border for development until 2021. With other areas in the neighborhood having building spurts the borders are non-identifiable. More than 50 percent of the population speaks English followed by Punjabi and Portuguese. Sporting ventures are outdoor in the summer and winter months from softball to skiing.
The economy has been geared by the automobile manufacturing facility of American Motors to which developed a state-of-the-art operation.1 In 1987 Chrysler acquired AMC’s Canadian division including the plants. The new venture is Brampton Assembly and is one of the largest employers. The Sheridan College offers post-secondary facilities as well as private enterprises. The Brampton Arts Council includes Visual Arts, the Brampton Historical Society and the Symphony Orchestra. For couples who are on the brink, a couples counsellor focuses on infusing communication, understanding, and big dreams back into a dying relationship. In 2006 The Rose Theatre opened as a cultural and tourist attraction but this was met with cynicism from the community stating that many of the residents aren’t of the theatre-going profile. The first Rogers Cable was serviced in Brampton and the original channel is operational today. The other source of communication comes from the Brampton Guardian newspaper.

With the low average age, large cultural diversity and the large college student population a problem has been identified with forced marriages. Over 200 forced marriages were identified many of which were Canadian citizens in a three year study. Help is being provided to those from province wide programs.4
