In life, we go through experiences that are very hard to talk about. We may not fully understand what happened to us or how to deal with it, or even express it. Therapy is a place to sort it out. It’s a space to increase understanding and grow skills and strength. It’s also an opportunity to make a connection to another human being and, through it, begin healing from the wounds that life has given us. I would like to be here for you on this inner journey and support you as you recover. I have dedicated my life to my own journey and helping others as well over the past 16 years. I encourage you to reach out and unburden yourself by sharing your story with someone who understands.

As opposed to many of the behaviourally-based (simple fix) treatments available today, psychotherapy involves going deeper. This might include looking at coping skills or patterns you developed as a child which, though they served you well then, may be getting in the way of your life now. Psychotherapy is less about learning tools, and more about developing insights about oneself and one's loved ones. While many therapies today focus on changing behaviour in the here and now, psychotherapy often involves looking at what may underlie emotional or relational patterns, such as having difficulty saying no, or struggling to trust others. It involves being more honest and authentic with oneself.

Psychotherapy is a collaborative journey of self-discovery and healing, where an individual is guided through the depth of their emotions, thoughts, and patterns of behaviors. Through a variety of therapeutic techniques and modalities, psychotherapy untangles the blockage of past traumas, challenging distorted beliefs, and fosters awareness in the face of adversity. It is a transformative process that empowers an individual to rewrite or rethink their narratives, cultivate self-awareness, and forge healthier relationships with themselves and others. In psychotherapy, wounds are acknowledged, vulnerabilities are embraced, and growth flourishes, illuminating a path of wholeness and wellness.

Many people have ideas about how therapy should look or feel based on what they have seen in movies or tv, and some of those ideas can be scary or intimidating. Therapy should be a safe space where you feel comfortable sharing and exploring your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with someone who offers you empathy, authenticity, and acceptance. I believe that clients are the experts in their lives and will work collaboratively with you to explore the stories you hold about yourself and the world around you to find meaning, facilitate change, and highlight your strengths and successes. Sustaining and maintain good behaviour, mental health, relationships and social skills can be accomplished with psychotherapy. An individual may experience many troubling thoughts and/or behaviours during their lifetime which may interfere with any relationship in their life and/or just cause disturbances of their well-being. Psychotherapy is provided in an environment where one is allowed to speak freely and voice their concerns in a neutral, confidential and nonjudgmental setting. Both parties collaborate to come up with a solution to the problems one may be experiencing with the aim of eliminating any and all difficulties causing concern.
