My faith and spirituality directs my life, is at the core of who I am, and how I respond in various situations. My deep faith and understanding of the gospel and the message of grace is integrated throughout all of my counselling services.

As a Christian, I greatly appreciate how faith and spirituality play a role in our daily lives. Yet God still calls us to be in the world and to experience many different aspects of human life, even things we think God could fix. Making sense of the differences between what we believe God wants and what we face daily can be distressing and lead to despair and depression. Talking about these losses with someone with a similar faith can be vital as we navigate these challenges. As a Seminary trained therapist, it has continuously amazed me to see how many well researched principles of modern psychotherapy can also be found in the Scripture. With extensive experience helping my clients through the struggles of addictions, depression, anxiety and other mental health concerns, combined with sound Biblical and Theological knowledge, I want to help you develop greater mental, emotional and spiritual wellness and start fully living the life God has given you.

My approach to counselling is attachment based and trauma informed. I have extensive training in emotionally focused therapy, the gold standard in couple's therapy, which I apply in my work with couples, families, and individuals. Emotionally focused therapy closely parallels the Christian faith in how it understands human personhood and connection. I am trained through a biblical lens and comfortable including faith in the work we will do. During our sessions I take an engaged and active role in the process, focused on helping you to identify the areas where you may be stuck and working with you to make changes aligned with your goals and faith.

Whatever your religious beliefs, your spirituality, your faith, your cultural and family background, we believe that everyone has difficulty with it at times throughout their lives. Sometimes we need someone to be able to talk with about these things that aren't directly connected to our family, or our spiritual dwellings. Sometimes we just need someone unbiased, or someone that believes similar things that we do, because it can be lonely wrestling with our spirituality.
