I offer counselling and psychotherapy for individuals, couples and families. I work with clients to improve their resiliency, and uncover their strengths using a client centered approach and different modalities to meet needs .

I provide psychotherapy, counselling, and mental health services that are grounded in my academic and experiential training. However, the foundation of my work is grounded in my faith. I firmly believe in a grand power/God that helps human beings to work for the healthy betterment of theirselves and of others. The main source of energy that drives us towards this betterment is love, compassion, and understanding. In faith based counselling and psychotherapy, I will help you to explore your own faith and spirituality and use these in supporting the resolution of resentful feelings, trauma, and other harmful experiences.

I am deeply committed to helping people foster healthy relationships, both with themselves and with their loved ones. I also am someone whose personal faith shapes and drives my vocation as a Psychotherapist and Couples Therapist. My approach to counselling is attachment based and trauma informed. I have extensive training in emotionally focused therapy, the gold standard in couple's therapy, which I apply in my work with couples, families, and individuals. Emotionally focused therapy closely parallels the Christian faith in how it understands human personhood and connection. I am trained through a biblical lens and comfortable including faith in the work we will do. During our sessions I take an engaged and active role in the process, focused on helping you to identify the areas where you may be stuck and working with you to make changes aligned with your goals and faith.

As a Christian I believe that deep inner transformation can occur as I use my counselling skills in partnership with God's healing grace in the lives of my clients. For those who embrace other faiths or no faith position I am careful and sensitive to respect their spiritual choices. For those who desire a Christian perspective on their emotional and spiritual needs I am very comfortable to include this as an integral part of therapy.

Being both a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist and an Ordained Minister of 12 years, I respectfully integrate both psychological and Christian elements in my counselling. I have spent my life in the study and teaching of Scriptures, and am aware of the vast variety and riches available to us in our different Christian traditions. I am a licensed practitioner with the Church of Religious Science which is a Christian based, non denominational, church. The foundational doctrines in this church follow the truth of Jesus' teachings. A fundamental teaching of this perspective is that God is love, and as such, Jesus is the representation of God, or love, in human form. We all have the potential to be "Christ conscious" and just as Jesus said, we all are capable of doing even greater works than he (John 14:12). My work as a Christian counsellor is not as adherent to a particular religious dogma as most, but rather broader, less dogmatic, and more firmly seated in the actual teachings of Jesus.
