My background being Roman Catholic is the approach that I do when doing spiritual counselling. Although I easily can address any religious background that the person that comes for therapy might have. At the end of the day is about listening to the client needs and in the process also having the client explain their spiritual background to address it properly.

My approach to counselling is attachment based and trauma informed. I have extensive training in emotionally focused therapy, the gold standard in couple's therapy, which I apply in my work with couples, families, and individuals. Emotionally focused therapy closely parallels the Christian faith in how it understands human personhood and connection. I am trained through a biblical lens and comfortable including faith in the work we will do. During our sessions I take an engaged and active role in the process, focused on helping you to identify the areas where you may be stuck and working with you to make changes aligned with your goals and faith.

Are yoin the midst of a troubling life event like the death of a loved one or pet, the loss of a job, declining health, financial problems, and/or relationship issues? Being reminded that having a strong and resilient faith can be a very supportive and powerful intervention. The ultimate goals of therapy will be to identify behaviors that are inconsistent with having a strong faith in God, so you can become more accepting of God’s plan for you. I practice Christian counselling and fully believe that the Word of God contains all that we need. I depend upon His Word and the power of the Holy Spirit within my counselling practice. He has designed us to be in complete dependancy upon in Him and in doing so can we experience real peace and power to overcome. That being said, I do not over-spiritualize everything.
