Faith, at its best, is designed to help negotiate life as it really is. It is a source of courage and helps us to identify what really matters. The Christian faith holds love at its centre and guides us to act towards our selves and towards others out of love. It helps us keep our egos in check, knowing there is something (God) greater than our limited understanding with is at work in our lives. I enter into discussions with clients about these matters, urging them to draw upon their own faith. I do not quote the Bible to direct them.

I hold a Masters of Divinity in Clinical Counselling from Tyndale University. I also spent over 20 years involved in various Christian Leadership roles. I do not practice or hold to this religion any longer. In my clinical work, I work with clients who are processing spiritual abuse/trauma and I regularly work with clients who are navigating deconstruction. I believe it is important to clarify, I am affirming and fully accepting of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. I consider myself an ally to this community. In my clinical work, I consider it an honour to work with members of this community who have been wounded by the Christian Church.

For some, having counselling services provided by a Christian therapist is important and being able to connect through our faith is vital. My faith and spirituality directs my life, is at the core of who I am, and how I respond in various situations. My deep faith and understanding of the gospel and the message of grace is integrated throughout all of my counselling services.

My greatest joy over 30 years has been helping people of faith, both Jews and Christians, grow in their relationship with God while negotiating the painful experiences and choices of life. Sometimes it is even our religious community which has been the source of those painful experiences. I believe we often have difficulty seeing who He truly is because of those experiences and choices, both ours and others’. Sometimes we are struggling with how to keep a faith perspective when our prayers seem unanswered.

As a Seminary trained therapist, it has continuously amazed me to see how many well researched principles of modern psychotherapy can also be found in the Scripture. With extensive experience helping my clients through the struggles of addictions, depression, anxiety and other mental health concerns, combined with sound Biblical and Theological knowledge, I want to help you develop greater mental, emotional and spiritual wellness and start fully living the life God has given you.
