Our faith and spirituality are incredible resources of hope, strength, meaning, connection, and love. I've spent more than 5 years studying theology for both my personal and professional growth to ensure I can provide therapy that is both theologically sound and spiritually-guided. While my experience is in the Evangelical Christian community, I am happy to serve people from all faith-based backgrounds.

As a Christian, I greatly appreciate how faith and spirituality play a role in our daily lives. Yet God still calls us to be in the world and to experience many different aspects of human life, even things we think God could fix. Making sense of the differences between what we believe God wants and what we face daily can be distressing and lead to despair and depression. Talking about these losses with someone with a similar faith can be vital as we navigate these challenges. If you want to speak to someone with a similar faith to your own or someone who understands the spiritual journey, I would be glad to be your therapist.

I hold a Masters of Divinity in Clinical Counselling from Tyndale University. I also spent over 20 years involved in various Christian Leadership roles. I do not practice or hold to this religion any longer. In my clinical work, I work with clients who are processing spiritual abuse/trauma and I regularly work with clients who are navigating deconstruction. I believe it is important to clarify, I am affirming and fully accepting of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. I consider myself an ally to this community. In my clinical work, I consider it an honour to work with members of this community who have been wounded by the Christian Church.

While most Christian Counselors pride themselves on how many Scriptural passages they can recite and how many links they can make from the Bible to psychological disorders, the Christian-centric work of Grey Matters International, Inc.is grounded in one principle: truth. For us, the work is more about truth and transparency of Christ's message and working on the natural laws of accountability and decision making that evolves from that. If one honors God's natural laws of reaping and sowing around the decisions one makes, one is indeed living Scripture to its fullest. The Bible is the original psychology text book. Current proven theories and practices can be found in scripture. A lot of Christians suffer emotionally/ psychologically because they do not do as their faith commands. 'Do not judge', but we are quick to judge ourselves. 'Forgive',, but we rarely forgive ourselves or are confident God has truly forgiven us, and so on. When working with Christians it is such a joy to look at successful secular approaches to mental health and well being and confirm these practices with what was written in the Bible so long ago.
