The Family Enhancement Centre offers Christian Counselling for individuals, married couples, nuclear and blended families in Brampton, Mississauga, Niagara Falls and Orangeville. I hold a Masters of Divinity in Clinical Counselling from Tyndale University. I also spent over 20 years involved in various Christian Leadership roles. I do not practice or hold to this religion any longer. In my clinical work, I work with clients who are processing spiritual abuse/trauma and I regularly work with clients who are navigating deconstruction. I believe it is important to clarify, I am affirming and fully accepting of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. I consider myself an ally to this community. In my clinical work, I consider it an honour to work with members of this community who have been wounded by the Christian Church.

A Biblical base simply means that the therapist believes that all human beings were created in the image of God, intended for relationship and designed with the capacity for growth and change. To me, the greatest part of being a Christian is being Christ-like, meaning, looking at each and every individual as a worthwhile human being, created for a purpose. When people stop believing in themselves, I like to help them get back on track and feel good about themselves. I’ve successfully worked with disadvantaged kids, the elderly, troubled teens, ashamed individuals, and couples feeling hopeless. I see my clients through the Lord’s eyes, as precious and valuable, and I do my best to help them look at themselves that way. I strongly believe in divine forgiveness and lack of judgment, which allows people in the darkest places to forgive themselves and have hope for a better future.

When requested we have therapists who are able to integrate bible teaching and prayer into professional therapy approaches. A number of our therapists have spent time studying the integration of Christian faith and professional counselling. When Christians are going through a difficult time they are usually looking for a counsellor that shares their world view. A Christian therapy approach can help people connect with God in the midst of their pain. Working through their concerns with the integration of their faith can help them bring their whole self to the process. We also understand that sometimes people have been hurt in Christian communities and are sensitive to these dynamics.

I believe that God is the ultimate healer. He does not want us to live in bondage, but rather wants people to live life fully and abundantly. I love people and consider it a privilege to walk along side them through their struggles and empower them to become all that God created them to be. My goal is to help people overcome issues and develop strategies to reach their maximum potential through Spirit-led counselling. I provide a caring, accepting and nurturing environment in which I help people develop tools to overcome the situations they are facing now, and give them the ability to apply these tools to other situations that arise in the future.
