Being both a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist and an Ordained Minister of 12 years, I respectfully integrate both psychological and Christian elements in my counselling. I hold a Masters of Divinity in Clinical Counselling from Tyndale University. I also spent over 20 years involved in various Christian Leadership roles. I do not practice or hold to this religion any longer. In my clinical work, I work with clients who are processing spiritual abuse/trauma and I regularly work with clients who are navigating deconstruction. I believe it is important to clarify, I am affirming and fully accepting of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. I consider myself an ally to this community. In my clinical work, I consider it an honour to work with members of this community who have been wounded by the Christian Church.

Through a shared understanding of Christian principles, teaching and beliefs, situations and people can be assessed and solution identified that are grounded in Christian traditions such as faith, forgiveness and grace, family and parenting, suffering and recovery. I have spent my life in the study and teaching of Scriptures, and am aware of the vast variety and riches available to us in our different Christian traditions. Together we can use counselling insights and approaches, working within the framework of traditional and emerging Christian thought and practice, as we work on understanding and resolving the various issues and concerns you bring into counselling.

For us, the work is more about truth and transparency of Christ's message and working on the natural laws of accountability and decision making that evolves from that. As a spiritual person and Minister, I work with those who are interested in exploring a non-denominational spiritual dimension to healing. Spiritual wellness is an important part of full mind and body wellness. Though some people might relate spirituality to religion, the truth is that it isn’t necessary to be religious to connect with your spiritual self. Spirituality can be defined in many ways, but a simple definition of spirituality is a sense of connection to something greater than the self.

As a Christian I believe that deep inner transformation can occur as I use my counselling skills in partnership with God's healing grace in the lives of my clients. For those who embrace other faiths or no faith position I am careful and sensitive to respect their spiritual choices. For those who desire a Christian perspective on their emotional and spiritual needs I am very comfortable to include this as an integral part of therapy.

Many years ago while I asked God for a career path, He hired me to work in His counselling profession. I received my integrated training (God's word/Psychology) at Trinity Western University. Since, I have been privileged to work hand-in-hand with God helping people heal their emotional/spiritual wounds, hurtful and often dehydrated relationships. If God hadn't invited me into His counselling profession, I would not be a counsellor today. The best counselling outcomes are accomplished through God's leading, intervention, empowerment and healing. God guides the sessions with His truth, wisdom and love. I love my job. Daily, I thank God for letting me be part of His great commission.

I am a licensed practitioner with the Church of Religious Science which is a Christian based, non denominational, church. The foundational doctrines in this church follow the truth of Jesus' teachings. A fundamental teaching of this perspective is that God is love, and as such, Jesus is the representation of God, or love, in human form. We all have the potential to be "Christ conscious" and just as Jesus said, we all are capable of doing even greater works than he (John 14:12). My work as a Christian counsellor is not as adherent to a particular religious dogma as most, but rather broader, less dogmatic, and more firmly seated in the actual teachings of Jesus.
