With my many years in education I am able and skilled at working with and relating to children and adolescents. Childhood should be a time for healthy growth and development. For many children and teens, it is a time of great emotional stress. Children react to stress in many ways including withdrawal and acting out behaviors at home and school. Hailey is passionate about working with children who are having challenges or going through difficult family changes. She has experience working with children with behavioural difficulties as well as children with many mental health issues such as anxiety, ADHD, and conduct disorder. Hailey uses fun, interactive strategies to engage children, such as toys, books, and worksheets. Hailey also utilizes behavioural analysis techniques, such as behaviour charts and reward systems.

I work with each child at their own pace, using creative, playful and meaningful strategies to understand and address their emotional and behavioural needs. If appropriate or necessary, I might also incorporate parents/guardians into the therapeutic work. I can also suggest resources and strategies alongside the individual work with the child to assist parents in supporting the child's therapeutic process and personal growth.

I have a deep respect for children. I work from a basis of compassion and honoring each child for who they are. I offer play and art therapy. These modes are well suited for children as it is through play that children find a way to sort out their experiences and find new ways to orient themselves in their lives. Art can offer a similar approach to play in that they both access the creative intuitive parts of the brain allowing children to heal and grow through their natural modes of being. There are many types of play therapy and which type is used depends on what the child needs, and what situation they are dealing with.
