Your career can be fulfilling - you need to decide to make it so. We will uncover what your career goals are, whether that is in your current work life or something different. We will consider many aspects including your inner desires, your short and long term goals, and we will assess your strengths and interests. From there, we you will work on exercises and specific action plans to uncover if your interests are truly that. Step-by-step we will work toward uncovering a more fulfilling career.

There can be a lot of pressure to figure out one’s career or to decide where one fits within a particular field. Oftentimes this is a winding road rather than a straight route. Within therapy, I will support you in identifying and exploring the values, goals, interests, and passions most important to you so that you can make decisions about your career that feel right to you. I will also work with you to process possible obstacles along the way such as (and certainly not limited to) challenging work dynamics, stress and burnout, and difficulties finding a work/life balance. I am a certified interpreter for Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) personality inventory. If you have done the MBTI Step II inventory propery, then we can use the result to explore what kind of career may best suit your personality preference. Sometimes, when we are working in a career which does not match our personality preference, we may find that it is difficult to handle the work or the working environment. It may create stress, anxiety and has a negative impact on our self esteem and our self confidence.

Your chosen career path is a reflection of where you want to go and what you want to accomplish in your lifetime. However, due to physical, mental, economic, familial, or emotional limitations, among others, it is possible that you may feel you are unable to work towards your desired career path. Additionally, it is possible that you may be unaware of what your career path might be. In career therapy, we will explore your interests, desires, strengths and challenges, your spirituality, education level and social, political or economical limitations, to discover what work might be meaningful, suitable and fruitful for you. We will then create a plan to work towards your desired career path.

In today’s world, it is normal to feel confused as to what career path to choose, how to change the one you have right now and how to keep moving forward in the direction of your choice, to reach your goals, to reach your potential.
