Anger is often correlated with severe mood swings and/or explosive behaviors. Excessive anger is often associated with bipolar disorder. The symptoms of dysfunctional expression of anger may be verbal or physical. As an individual can identify the physiological signs when his/her anger is increasing; for example change in breathing, muscle tightness, loudness or intensity of voice we can change that build up of underlying emotion through mindfulness, heart math breathing, taking a time out, giving space, and a number of other techniques. Over time individuals learn to recognize and effectively manage their responses to anger.

Anger, a common human emotion. However, not one widely embraced or tolerated. Anger when not identified, understood and regulated, can led to issues. Understanding a young person's anger, the reasons for it and how to effectively cope with make it, will make a positive difference. All behaviors are an attempt at regulation. Often times anger is prompted by fear, anxiety or sadness. The relationships that a child has can support the process of learning to regulate emotions. I look at how families and children can change interactions for a more positive outcome.

Grey Matters International and the work of Kevin J. Fleming, Ph.D approaches issues of anger management in a very humane yet fresh perspective. You see, anger is a normal emotion but it is the valence (intensity) as well as the coupling choice of what one does with this that is the problem. Telling someone to "not" do it or modifying behavior with a trite psychological plan that only breeds a compliant response is not the way to change anger. Brainwave optimization is a new cutting edge technology that allows one to rewire circuitry responsible for reactivity driving the anger.
