As a certified child centered play therapist, I am trained and enjoy working with children ages 3 and up. Using play therapy for children is like talk therapy for adults.. it is the best way children have to communicate their struggles and work through their feelings. A critical part of working with children is keeping communication going with you, the parent. Part of my treatment approach includes regularly scheduled consultations with you. I have designated play therapy space at my Syracuse and Rome offices, and look forward to talking with you about your child.

I offer counseling typically to children 12+ If the child is younger than 12, and needs support for entering middle school, or peer/ social skills with my experience K-12, and graduate school age, please inquire re: need! As a family or with a sibling I would treat younger as well. As always just inquire with more information on how I can assist !

In my work with children, I utilize a non-directive play therapy approach, providing a safe, supportive space where they can express themselves freely. Play is a natural language for children, and through it, they can process emotions, explore difficult experiences, and work through challenges in a way that feels comfortable and familiar to them. This approach helps children build self-confidence, develop problem-solving skills, and process emotions such as anxiety, sadness, anger, or confusion without pressure or judgment.
