Clients need to learn effective ways of coping with grief and loss and to find strength from within. By doing this, they can reflect on the positive memories and look forward to new beginnings. Individuals need to know that through these life experiences, they grow and can become stronger.

Grief is a normal process; however, it is often necessary to move beyond the pain and to live life again. It does not mean forgetting the loved one, it means moving toward acceptance and healing. I focus on moving through the stages of the grieving process to assist with healing. My approach is supportive and interactional. It is often necessary for the client to have an avenue of emotional expression/ventilation for healing.
