Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a type of therapy that focuses on the connection between your feelings, beliefs and behaviors. Through CBT, I will help you understand how your distorted, unhealthy and/or self-destructive thinking patterns influence how you behavior or respond in certain situations. In our talk therapy sessions, your teen can come as they are. There are no judgments or prerequisites for my clients. My approach is person-centered. Your teen will explore who they are, what they want to accomplish, and how they can get themselves there. They will do this work in a supportive and welcoming environment. The goal is self-actualization. Your teen will realize their potential and together we will address the thoughts and behaviors that have been acting as barriers to their success. It is an exciting journey, and I am honored to be part of it!

My philosophy of therapy and change is that change comes from within. As a therapist, I ask a great deal in asking an individual to change, as change is an incredibly difficult task for everyone. The journey of change requires both the client and myself to work collaboratively throughout this journey. It is for this reason that the rapport between the client and myself is critical. I aim to provide all my clients with the space to explore their underlying feelings, thoughts, and behaviors so that they can engage in change.
