My approach to psychotherapy is to give that individual choice and control back in their life. I utilize deferent approaches and educate you on each as we go through this. I partner with you in this journey. I believe that you are in need of healing and not something that need to be fixed. One of my main approaches is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I use this to restructure and identify thoughts and create a new way of thinking in the areas of need.

Change, healing, and growth is a process. It is a process of becoming more whole in being and in relationship. I consider all of who you are in this process: body, mind, and spirit. We look at your history, thoughts, emotions, and relational interactions and take a relational and emotion-focused approach with practical ways ways to attend to what you need. My hope is that you grow in understanding and relationship with yourself and others, emotions, how issues affect you, interactions with others and life, the ability to handle future challenges successfully.

Starting therapy can be one of the most important actions a person can take, and I honor the feelings of hope, uncertainty and anxiety that this can create. I will try to make the experience helpful and worthwhile through my active, supportive listening and interest, and the strong belief that, with enough work, everyone can heal and achieve their goals. When I’m with my client our relationship is most important and I try to cultivate trust and feelings of safety that they can say anything and everything. In my twenty-six years as a therapist I have successfully helped many clients with anxiety, low energy, sleep issues, professional struggles, and depression.

I offer an approach to counseling that is solution focused. I work with people's strengths and help them get to the point where they can make choices to resolve their issues. I then provide guide them through the choices they make. I am a family systems therapist and look at their family of origin, their current relationships, and their spiritual beliefs in an integrated therapy approach. I am holistic based, so I look at their health and lifestyle influences that may be contributing to their problems.

As a licensed individual, marriage, and family therapist, I pay special attention to how past and present relationships shape identity and influence stress.
