My work with child is based on showing them unconditional regard as a person, get to know them as individuals-their likes and dislikes, goals,,fears/concerns and what makes them laugh and smile. We discuss school and updates on tests, grades, friends, classes and what's needed to succeed or overcome a challenge. I invite them to help me help them. Usage of various items in the play therapy room helps them feel safe,in control and empowered. Hopefully these feelings will be internalized. Preference is to work with kids 8+. Will see <8 in special circumstances.
