Anger is a secondary emotion and van stem from a wide range of things. The goal of anger management is to help the person identify the underlying source of the anger (the trigger) and the emotion attached to it. Upon finding the trigger we can trace it back to its origin. Communication skills training to learn how to effectively communicate thoughts, feelings, needs, desires and goals. CBT is incorpoated to teach the interaction between thoughts and behaviors. Goal is C helping the person to understand people do not want to live in fear of them but would rather live in peace with them. By having a disposition change people will be drawn to rather than run from or avoid them.
