Couples Counseling can be specific or broad in nature. Counseling may help a couple work through a specific issue or conflict, or it may help the couple to improve communication, change patterns and work through long standing issues. Our therapists work with couples at all stages - whether in a new relationship and attempting to work out conflicts that are preventing them for progressing, or in a long term relationship and wishing to increase emotional depth and intimacy.

I have found that couples have difficulty communicating with each other. They almost always see the problems within their relationship as "theirs" not "mine". Sometimes this is true. But most often the struggles come from both. In my work with couples, we will figure out what is preventing each partner to communicate effectively. To say what they are feeling so the partner can hear and understand. If communication is not the only issue the couple is having, we will explore what is really going on and why for real results.
