You cannot have high self-esteem and be angry at the same time. The lower your self-esteem, the more vulnerable you are to being angry. Showing your anger in reactive ways doesn't communicate what you really are trying to say. We teach clients how to raise their self-esteem and how what angers them is related to something they believe about themselves. We also offer cognitive-behavioral tools to help individuals and couples address, express and feel their anger.

At Home or Private Discreet Intensives
Grey Matters International and the work of Kevin J. Fleming, Ph.D approaches issues of anger management in a very humane yet fresh perspective. You see, anger is a normal emotion but it is the valence (intensity) as well as the coupling choice of what one does with this that is the problem. Telling someone to "not" do it or modifying behavior with a trite psychological plan that only breeds a compliant response is not the way to change anger. Brainwave optimization is a new cutting edge technology that allows one to rewire circuitry responsible for reactivity driving the anger. Aristotle famously stated that getting angry was easy, but doing so in the right way, and for the right reasons, and to the right degree was not so easy. To this day, those words are a truth. It is a problem that has yet to be universally solved, but instead, must be done individually, in the course of one's life. However, there are keys and tools and understandings that are universal. Providing these tools is a large part of my work, as I work extensively with men and women struggling with anger problems and domestic violence.
