Learning to mange your anger effectively takes the willingness to be introspective, the trust to be vulnerable with the therapist, and the investment in yourself to be a better person. Anger, when used inappropriately, is often used to keep others at bay. Through participation in therapy you can learn to set healthy boundaries without yelling, getting angry, or striking out.

I find anger management does not pop up with no rhyme or reason. I like to give my clients tools to express their anger in a positive and safe way to allow them to feel as though they are not repressing any intense emotion. As the client becomes more comfortable in the process, we will be able to examine any past issues the anger may stem from. In order to really resolve anger issues, we will need to target exactly when the problem started, and work through the emotions of that time.

At Home or Private Discreet Intensives
Grey Matters International and the work of Kevin J. Fleming, Ph.D approaches issues of anger management in a very humane yet fresh perspective. You see, anger is a normal emotion but it is the valence (intensity) as well as the coupling choice of what one does with this that is the problem. Telling someone to "not" do it or modifying behavior with a trite psychological plan that only breeds a compliant response is not the way to change anger. Brainwave optimization is a new cutting edge technology that allows one to rewire circuitry responsible for reactivity driving the anger.
