While I have some training in play therapy, I prefer to work with children at least 10 years of age. A lot of issues that children face have to do with the family environment, which is why it's important to consider a family therapist to look at the entire family system. As a family therapist, I can help by examining the dynamics and interactions within the entire family system, identifying and addressing underlying issues, promoting healthy communication patterns, and fostering a supportive environment that contributes to the child's overall well-being and development.

Through biofeedback and other progressive modalities, we can interrupt that persistent OCD tendency, anxiety, or agitation, and restore sleep to the tired, angry, miserable child. Some things are best done by treating the neurons directly, and not through play therapy. We will work collaboratively with your regular play or talk therapist to ensure all integrates well in the child's care.

Although I do not typically work directly with young children in therapy, I have experience working with their parents. I can help you as you transition to parenthood through pregnancy or adoption, adjust to life with a newborn, set appropriate limits and boundaries for behavior problems, and communicate more effectively in ways children can understand.

I see children ages three to eighteen. I specialize in treating both behavioral problems and emotional problems. I treat depression, anxiety, and ADHD. I use play therapy to help children express their feelings which helps to reduce behavioral problems and emotional issues. I also work with parents to improve communication with their children, as well as parenting skills.
