I approach treating depression from a place of compassion and understanding for all parts of you in this struggle with depression. I often treat from an emotionally focused perspective and integrate internal family systems and mindfulness work as is fitting for the client. I look forward to helping you gain a better connection and secure attachment within yourself even in the midst of a really difficult season of life.

My Client's depression is often a product of frustration and anger becoming jammed up inside them. As it continues, feelings of hopeless and helplessness become stories that they are victims and without power, sort of "dead in the water." I see depression as psychologically coming from anger that is jammed up inside, but it can also come from lack of sleep or lack of exercise. Medical issues should not be ignored.

Most of therapy or counseling processes utilize validation, unconditional positive regard, and reframing as common techniques to get someone to heal from their depression. Though this can be helpful, it rarely fixes the core problem behind it and for tough cases we then refer them usually to a psychiatrist for medication which can have tons of side effects.
