I love working with family members to sort out issues and resolve conflicts when possible. Although not always possible its always worth a try. What is usually helpful is to find better boundaries with the "trouble makers" in the family and to learn to love them the way they are and not the way you want them to be while establishing those boundaries. We believe that family participation can play a huge role in the success of an individual’s recovery. By engaging the family in treatment, they can learn to better communicate and understand each other. The family can express how the substance abuse or addiction has affected them and the individual can begin to see that they do have the support of their family.
