Anger takes many shapes. Sometimes anger is a physiological response to a percieved threat. Past trauma is usually at the root of these anger problems. Our counselor's have advanced training in eliminating the effects of past trauma and can thus assist you in moving past managing your emotions to eliminating automatic anger reactions altogether. Other roots of anger include selfishness, pride, insecurity and an exaggerated need for control. These kinds of anger are emotional/spiritual in nature. We use a faith-based model approach to assisting our clients in dealing with these root causes of anger. If you are a loved one wants more peace in your life, give our office a call.

At Home or Private Discreet Intensives
Grey Matters International and the work of Kevin J. Fleming, Ph.D approaches issues of anger management in a very humane yet fresh perspective. You see, anger is a normal emotion but it is the valence (intensity) as well as the coupling choice of what one does with this that is the problem. Telling someone to "not" do it or modifying behavior with a trite psychological plan that only breeds a compliant response is not the way to change anger. Brainwave optimization is a new cutting edge technology that allows one to rewire circuitry responsible for reactivity driving the anger. Anger is a genuine and respectable emotion. And should be treated as valuable. Too often, we are trained early on NOT to express anger, feel hurt, cry, or express frustration or disappointment. We then repress what is a natural feeling. Anger unresolved can build RAGE, that wound that gets tapped whenever we feel under valued, or less than worthy of our authentic lives. Anger won't go away but will come out sideways, passively or in sudden outbursts that don't match the offense. Learning to manage anger, express it in healthy ways, create safe environments with which to work through unresolved anger and know when to walk away and turn the inner temperature down - these are the keys.
