Grief can take many forms with one of them being grieving a relationship. One of the ways Amy helps her clients is to work on forgiving themselves for what feels like a weakness and to uncover their hidden strength. The emotional and physical symptoms of grief after a breakup can be so intense that the body and psyche can overwhelm the logical brain to create a way of functioning that appears necessary for survival, even though it might be self-destructive.

In my psychotherapy practice, I provide compassionate support for those experiencing grief and loss. I create a safe space for clients to express their emotions, process their pain, and find meaning in their experiences. Using a personalized approach, I integrate various therapeutic techniques to help patients navigate their grief journey, fostering resilience and promoting healing. Grief and loss is a process that does not follow steps in a certain order. We help process the loss in the hopes of giving a strong meaning to the life event, so that you feel that you can carry whatever you feel that has been lost in a healthy way. Our goal is for clients to thaw and leave the process having a new meaning about their loss. Grief and loss can feel like a very lonely experience; however, a client does not have to be alone.

Grief is a normal and natural reaction to a loss of any kind; death, divorce, faith or career. Regardless of the reason why, the resulting emotions are very powerful and often conflicting. My approach to grief and loss is to use cognitive behavioral approaches to process the emotions and help my client reclaim control over them. Often clients get stuck in trying to find a logical answer to the "why" instead of processing the emotional effect on their life. I can help with the process.
