While not an Eating Disorder, I do offer service for those Big Beautiful Women and Big Beautiful Men who wish to work on size-esteem issues and related concerns in a positive, non-dieting way. This work includes locating resources, products, support, social experiences and other ways to find encouragement to care for yourself physically, mentally and emotionally regardless of what size your dress or pants happen to be !!

I specialize in working with youth aged 3-25, and can help you understand how and why your child is struggling with eating. Children typically want to feel significant and accepted, and many times the eating issue is related to a disconnect in a deeper place. I believe that eating disorders do not exist independently; I strongly believe that there are other issues such as depression and/or low self esteem, with the eating disorder being the only area where the individual feels a sense of control. I work with people trying to lose weight from compulsive overeating such as binge eating. I do not work with anorexia or bulimia however. Many times the overeating is grouped along with other addictions such as drinking, smoking, shopping, gambling or drugs. Please don't hesitate to ask how I might be helpful in this area. I approach this work from a behavioral and cognitive viewpoint - but also work to get to the underlying reasons for the overeating to help maintain a healthy lifestyle.
