Family counseling can be beneficial in helping a family learn skills and strategies to rebuild and improve relationships. The therapeutic process can help family members gain an understanding of how the household functions and may focus on identification of roles within the family with the overall goals being identification of strengths, improved communication, and increased empathy and emotional support, which will create more effective family management.
