Family therapy can benefit all members of the family to learn how to effectively communicate and to help parents with effective parenting tools to help with difficult behaviors. Co-parenting and blended families are especially vulnerable to problems with communication and healthy relationship building. I use Family Systems therapy to help families with these struggles.

Families are complicated. Sometimes those we love are the hardest to be around, often because of old hurts, personality differences, and poor communication. As a husband and father of 7 I know firsthand the blessings and challenges of family life. I enjoy working with families to understand the patterns that aren’t working, and illuminate hopeful alternatives. Improved communication, empathy, forgiveness, boundaries, family roles, and trauma are assessed in putting the puzzle together to find healing.

Family therapy can be done with one or more people in the session. We can work with you individually to explore and gain insight into your family relationships, and we can also invite family members to join and be part of the process.

Everyone has a role in a family - whether it was a chosen role or assigned to you by your parents. Discovering your role, and whether you want to continue in the role is truly up to you. I can help with setting boundaries, and with those "walking on eggshells" relationships. Family relationships can be entrenched and hard to navigate. I can help untangle, understand and heal these relationships.
