Small fights about little things become battles that highlight our struggle to have our basic relational needs met. As Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, we provide a safe and supportive therapeutic environment for helping our clients to take steps toward their goals. Family therapy can be done with one or more people in the session. We can work with you individually to explore and gain insight into your family relationships, and we can also invite family members to join and be part of the process.

As a husband and father of 7 I know firsthand the blessings and challenges of family life. I enjoy working with families to understand the patterns that aren’t working, and illuminate hopeful alternatives. Improved communication, empathy, forgiveness, boundaries, family roles, and trauma are assessed in putting the puzzle together to find healing.

There are families of all kinds – blended families, disjointed families, adult children working with their parents, youth and their parents, and so many more combinations that we could never list them all. One of the most frequent calls we receive is for family therapy, however after some discussion with you, it is often an individual within the family that first desires a change to get the family change rolling. Family therapy is similar to individual therapy or couples therapy, it just has more people. It could be any combination of 2 or more individuals working

I work collaboratively with families to identify patterns of communication, address underlying conflicts, and foster mutual understanding. By blending modern techniques with proven approaches, I help families rebuild trust, strengthen connections, and develop healthier, more supportive relationships that benefit everyone involved.

Families are a whole, we each play our part. When one member is broken, is the family whole? Do you know what words and deeds have constricted or brought freedom to family members? Are there blended family issues that cannot be mixed in even at high speed? What roles do you and other members play? What parts have been prescribed, what roles are played? Do you feel that you’re caught up in an old movie; same action, same words, and the same scene over and over again? When working with families, my main approach is Systems Therapy to strengthen the family unit. However, during treatment often times there is 1 or more family members that will need to be seen in individual therapy.
