Many times we are still affected in the present by painful events of our past. We can’t change our past. However, we can change how the past is affecting us today. With every hurtful event comes emotional pain and a negative belief about you. In psychotherapy with me, that event can be processed in a way that removes the pain and replaces the negative belief with a positive belief of your choosing. We will utilize therapy techniques tailored to your specific needs to assist you in making progress.

I have helped adult, adolescent and children struggling with depression and mood disorders become happier and more productive through the use of cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, narrative, acceptance and commitment, and mindfulness-based therapies. I also encourage clients to explore lifestyle choices that may help them deal with depression and other mood issues.

Depression can leave you feeling like even the simplest tasks are impossible. Overtime you can start feeling guilt or shame about how hard life feels for you and isolate yourself. You're not alone in how you feel and you don't have to go through this by yourself! Through CBT, behavioral activation, and a huge does of empathy, you can start feeling like yourself again. Therapy is a safe space to express and feel your emotions and find accountability for moving towards your goals.

Depression is not your identity. First and foremost, you are a child of God. But even with faith, life can knock us down and it can be difficult to find hope.
