With a Master’s degree in counseling, I’m trained to treat a wide variety of common mental health issues like anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, grief, and relationship issues. However, my passion is helping stressed out men to overcome their barriers, bad-habits, and insecurities to experience healing and breakthrough. I do so using my training in counseling, my experience in ministry, and my expertise as a trained addiction coach. As we learn your life history, we may find that some of the distress is rooted in early childhood trauma and attachment wounding. We will embrace and cherish all parts of yourself and learn about the challenging messages you may have grown up with that manifested into the distress you feel today. Distress can be a messenger, an alarm telling you that it is time to heal experiences from earlier in life. In our work together, we'll use EMDR, Emotion Focused Therapy and Expressive Arts to help you thrive.

I work with an entire person--the mind, emotions, body, spirit, relationships. I offer an alternative approach to traditional psychotherapy because sometimes we are stuck beyond our thoughts. I believe we are often stuck beyond how we think about something, but by how our body holds and remembers the experiences. After all, we feel the anxiety in our chest, shoulders or stomach. When we are depressed, we struggle to move, sleep, concentrate etc. I work to remove the block from wherever it is stuck. My clients come to me after years of ineffective therapy. They are looking for more than talking about their struggles or identifying how they think about them in favor of a change in living.

My education and training in many therapeutic modalities, as well as teaching and training other therapists, allows me to individualize your psychotherapy. Together we address the presenting problems and challenges with the goal of understanding how things got to be as they are, capitalizing on your strengths and learning how to cope with your vulnerabilities for the maximum capacity for healthy and happy love, work and play.
