Seeking out counseling for your child can be challenging. Sometimes we feel like something is wrong and we don't know why. Other times there are problems at school or home and we know that they need help and what with. When trying to help your children you need to ask yourself a couple of questions. Is my child struggling? In what areas of life do I see him/her finding success. By knowing your child's strengths we can help them to work on overcoming their struggles.

Although it’s a hard pill to swallow, I’ve found that young children often display anxiety, disobedience, and other problem-behaviors because they are absorbing chaos within the home... often because the parents haven’t dealt with their own issues. This isn’t a judgment. Parenting is tough. But if you’re looking for someone to “fix” your kid, I’m not your guy. While I do not work exclusively with young children it has been my experience that often times the parents of children with special needs and/or behavioral issues benefit greatly from seeking therapy for themselves. It can be challenging to raise children who have one or more diagnoses that interfere with their ability to learn, behave, or both.
