I’ve often helped my clients through difficult transitions, including changes in career. I’ve guided those in college to navigate issues of meaning, purpose, and direction, have helped middle-aged men navigate the emotional stress and financial burden of providing for kids and elderly parents, and have coached successful men through transitions around retirement, role changes, and leaving a legacy. I am certified in the use of the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory; one of the primary tools used in this process. This is an assessment that evaluates your strengths and examines which careers caters to your personality type. Whether you are a high school or college student anticipating your first career, or looking to change careers, career counseling could be for you.

Choosing an initial career path or making a career change can feel daunting. Maybe you feel immense pressure to get it right from the start and end up feeling completely overwhelmed because of the amount of choices there are. I challenge you to reframe and stop thinking about what happens if you make the wrong choice; think about what your life will look like with the perfect career for you and go from there! While most career counselors love to give you capacity based profiles of what your talents and interests are for your best bet career choices, Grey Matters international believes that most people make predictably irrational decisions and then after making them learn way to make them fit into their identities using various types of rationalizations and strategies.
