While I am not a Vocational Counselor, most of the individuals with whom I've worked to provide career type counseling did not need vocational testing to select a career. What they did need was a place to brainstorm ideas about a career move or an occupation change, someone to provide coaching about how to answer interview questions, complete a resume, and get on all the social media sites, such as Linkedin. Someone to help them sort out fears, emotional processes, or other people, that may be holding them back from moving forward. Any of us can get in a comfortable rut and remain stagnant and unhappy. I will help you access motivation to make a change.

Although career counseling is not one of my primary roles with my clients, we often include this in the treatment plan as people's work, jobs and carers are a significant parts of their lives. Help my clients evaluate their current work situation and we look for ways to create more balance between work and other areas of their lives. A big part of career counseling also includes the development of healthy stress management skills. If the client is ready to make a career change we create a plan that will best support them through that transition.
