I use Solution oriented questioning to help clients develop awareness in learning about themselves and how their plans for career transition link to personal growth.

I am convinced that college is not for everyone. Some people thrive and are happy and successful after learning a trade. Still, opportunities in North America for non-college educational advancement are not as extensive as they should be. I advise most people to at least consider college, because it often opens many more doors to them in the job market.

I spent 27 years as a high-tech exec before I was a therapist. I managed sales & technical teams for small- to medium-sized companies (incl. several startups) & became CEO/COO of such a business. I was a business road warrior running seminars, giving pep talks, strategizing product development, troubleshooting SWOT analyses, etc., all over the USA. I worked as a turnaround agent, consulted for several years, & after 9/11, worked on a Joint Terrorist Task Force subcontract. These experiences & my Life Coach Certification make me uniquely qualified as a career (and life) counselor. I help my clients assess career & major life choices with an eye to maximizing their strengths & opportunities.

There is a lot of pressure these days for a person to figure out exactly what to do with his or her life at a very early age. The fact of the matter is that life shapes us in many different ways at all different times in our lives, which can alter our goals and send us on a different path. When I work with someone who is struggling to find a career, we first explore their passions and the things that excite them in life. We research anything and everything as a potential option and set small attainable goals both in and out of session. I find that when we get away from what is "realistic" and being focusing on what makes a person happy, a whole world of possibilities opens up.
