They will gain insight as to who they are, what they want, and how to pursue their dreams with self confidence.

I’ve often helped my clients through difficult transitions, including changes in career. I’ve guided those in college to navigate issues of meaning, purpose, and direction, have helped middle-aged men navigate the emotional stress and financial burden of providing for kids and elderly parents, and have coached successful men through transitions around retirement, role changes, and leaving a legacy. At Lion Counseling, our mission is to help you escape the cages that hold you back and become the lion God created you to be.

In American society, our careers help define us. And finding purpose in our careers gives us a sense of worth. As a therapist I see that although a career may pay our expenses it should not define us. It should, however, offer some benefit in either our personal development or fulfillment. I work with my clients to find ways to identify what is useful and discuss where these skills could be applied.

While most career counselors love to give you capacity based profiles of what your talents and interests are for your best bet career choices, Grey Matters international believes that most people make predictably irrational decisions and then after making them learn way to make them fit into their identities using various types of rationalizations and strategies. I spent 27 years as a high-tech exec before I was a therapist. I managed sales & technical teams for small- to medium-sized companies (incl. several startups) & became CEO/COO of such a business. I was a business road warrior running seminars, giving pep talks, strategizing product development, troubleshooting SWOT analyses, etc., all over the USA. I worked as a turnaround agent, consulted for several years, & after 9/11, worked on a Joint Terrorist Task Force subcontract. These experiences & my Life Coach Certification make me uniquely qualified as a career (and life) counselor. I help my clients assess career & major life choices with an eye to maximizing their strengths & opportunities.
