While most treatment approaches for anxiety and stress are effective on the surface, they dont treat the real problem. Mantras, deep breathing, and rational dialogues about your fear being irrational rarely work---for most people dont believe it or you!. Imagine if you can trick the brain into changing without you telling your conscious mind that you are changing it? Problem with anxiety and stress is that the brain in this state knows you want to change it and it resists. Contact Kevin@kevinfleminphd.com for the ultimate stress and anxiety solution that will literally change your brain's autonomic nervous system patterns while you sit on your butt. 877-606-6161

I understand the crippling effects anxiety can have, ultimately making someone a prisoner inside their own head. Based on research demonstrating its efficacy, I utilize a form of treatment known as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, aimed at challenging irrational thoughts and behavior, ultimately teaching clients to confront their fears and begin to live a life not controlled by anxiety and panic.

I work with anxiety and stress by helping individuals learn and develop tools to re-regulate their nervous system. When we have a coherent and fluid nervous system, we can do difficult things without feeling paralyzed by overwhelming fear.

I use a variety approaches to work with anxiety and stress ranging from Mindfulness practices to EMDR to Emotional Freedom Technique to journaling to a gratitude practice. I have very good results with my clients because a part of my approach is to help them to accept the reality of anxiety and stress in their lives and then we undergo an investigation to look at their reactions and then develop a new, more functional plan that absolutely eliminates becoming angry at the self for feeling anxious or fearful, this only serves to create more anxiety and potentially depression.

Anxiety and stress therapy with me is indeed a unique experience. Several assessment tools are used including an accountability chart which guides healthy life balance. Other effective forms of treatment include anxiety management, cognitive therapy and exposure therapy. With anxiety management I teach patients skills that will help them cope. Skills taught include relaxation training, breathing retraining, positive thinking, assertiveness training and thought stopping. Cognitive therapy helps clients change irrational beliefs that interfere with psychological functioning and create emotional disturbances. With Exposure therapy I encourage clients to confront stress/anxiety symptom triggers.

As a high-achieving man, anxiety and stress comes with the territory. And you wouldn’t be where you are today in life unless you’ve handled it pretty well until now. But most successful men find that anxiety eventually impacts them. Whether it’s slowly been eating at you for years, or you’ve just experienced your first panic attack, you’re not going crazy. There are solutions, and this can get better. I help men learn practical stress-management techniques, but I don’t stop there. I also help them identify the root causes of their stress and anxiety, and use research-proven EMDR therapy to systematically target them. The results are measurable, evidenced by deeper calm and clarity of mind.
