I work with clients to externalize anxiety and stress; then to deconstruct their preferred view of themselves. As therapy progressed clients develop understanding regarding causes, signs and symptoms and explore techniques in managing anxiety and stress. When possible family members may be recommended to join the session to assist the client in assessing his/her stories in arriving at desired changes.

Anxiety and stress are some of the most common concerns that clients bring to me in session. The constant worry of how to get everything done, while navigating a pandemic, in an ever-changing world can seem overwhelming at times. You are not alone. Working with clients who are experiencing anxiety and stress is a passion and specialty of mine. I am unique in my approach because I come from both a psychological background, but also from a background of many years studying and teaching yoga and meditation, which is the science of developing personal peace. I help clients to develop ways to decrease stress and anxiety without the use of medication by utilizing breathing techniques and mindfulness practices. I also use a cognitive behavioral approach that helps to recognize negative irrational thoughts while replacing these thoughts with more positive and realistic thoughts. I offer individual therapy and regular group therapy.

Anxiety can affect your life in so many ways. Anxiety can keep you from reaching out for that relationship, or attempting for a better job. Anxiety can be healthy, but when you have too much it reduces your life.
