I started my work in this field primarily focusing on addictive disorders. In the last 30 years the magnitude of addictive behaviors have exploded. My approach when working with people who are struggling with addiction is first help them maintain a level of sobriety or abstinence from their addictive behaviors. We create an individualized treatment plan with an emphasis on relapse prevention that often includes support groups and family or couples therapy.
