Eating disorders are a broad spectrum of “too much” behaviors. They can stem from always seeing that image of that potato chip and not being able to say “no”. Or they may be much more serious. Indeed in my 20 year experience, eating problems are not usually related to food, but are related to unresolved or suppressed emotions. Using advanced techniques, we aim for a personal and confidential release of those emotional weights, freeing you to make healthier and ultimately beneficial choices.

Eating disorders are complex problems. They can be rooted in self-esteem based concerns. They may also be rooted in societal pressures or need for control in one's life. Some folks with eating disorders have a family history which informs the problem. Looking at family history and/or social messages can help inform the root cause of such struggles.

I have several years of clinical experience working in an eating disorder treatment center at a partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) level of care. I have continued to work with clients around body image issues, disordered eating, and eating disorders as a outpatient therapist. While the work is difficult, I believe there is hope for recovery! My approach is holistic and I will often recommend a nutritionists (experienced working with eating disorders) to work with you as we discover your path for recovery.
