Losing someone or something is incredibly hard. I believe that one of the great myths that we are told is simply that “time heals all wounds.” Time can actually reinforce the pain of loss and it is important to mourn and grieve that which we no longer have. Grief is an individualized internal experience.There is no right way or right amount of time to grieve. Dialoguing about life and death, disappointments and future opportunities allows each person the space to grieve and also recreate their lives from this moment on. In my 30+ years of clinical practice, I assist my clients as they experience the emotional pain and the full recognition of their loss. I support them as they build the emotional resilience to overcome their grief, turning their energy into future opportunities.

My approach to grief and loss therapy begins with understanding each client's unique experience of loss. I help clients accept their loss and experience its sadness. We then explore their range of feelings, including anger, denial, guilt, loneliness, and depression and develop a customized treatment plan to help them return to optimal functioning.
