I use talk therapy, CBT, and EMDR to approach the treatment process for clients suffering from anxiety and stress. With anxiety, EMDR can prove to be key because it allows the brain to search the root causes of a person's anxiety and find healing at a base level. This is much more affective than simply treating symptoms of anxiety. Once the root cause is discovered, relief will naturally occur. However, it is also important to address the present symptoms and help clients make changes in their lives to alleviate anxiety and develop healthy coping skills.

We can use mindfulness techniques to work with difficult emotions or a lack of emotions day to day. Exercise, diet, sleep and many daily activities can be utilized to help with difficult times. Self care is an exploration. I support the use of medications when needed depending on what you want to do. I take an individualized approach so the process depends on how you want to approach it and what your needs are.

Anxiety and Stess: I work with my clients to help them manage, reduce, and eliminate their stress and anxiety. EFT Tapping is one of the primary techniques that I use with my clients to help them with their stress and anxiety. I help them to find out what is underneath the stress and anxiety, often it is a hidden fear or limiting belief system. Tapping is one of the absolute best mind body clearing techniques for stress, anxiety, and overwhelm. It works incredibly well to rewire the subconscious mind and calm the body's nervous system. My clients have experienced profound results with EFT Tapping. The benefits include feeling more relaxed, present, happier, calmer, and more joyful.

Lao Tzu said, "If you're anxious, it's because you're living in the future. If you're at peace, it's because you're living in the present." Often anxiety looks like leaving the present moment and projecting into the future, trying to think 10 steps ahead about things that haven't happened yet. This future thinking leads to stress in the present. I teach clients how to tune into their emotions (including anxiety), their bodies (as an anchor to the present moment) and move through anxiety as it arises using their breath. Anxiety and stress don't have to run your life. I'm here to support you in regulating your anxiety and stress by staying with yourself in the present moment.

How much is your anxiety costing you? Individuals who suffer from anxiety and chronic stress are less productive at work and are more likely to call in sick. They are 3-5 times more likely to go to the doctor as anxiety often feels like physical illness. Their relationships with family and friends suffer or are sometimes cut off completely. Counseling is the single most effective treatment for anxiety and stress, and the benefits begin immediately. Call today to get started: (970) 227-2770.

As a high-achieving man, anxiety and stress comes with the territory. And you wouldn’t be where you are today in life unless you’ve handled it pretty well until now. But most successful men find that anxiety eventually impacts them. Whether it’s slowly been eating at you for years, or you’ve just experienced your first panic attack, you’re not going crazy. There are solutions, and this can get better. I help men learn practical stress-management techniques, but I don’t stop there. I also help them identify the root causes of their stress and anxiety, and use research-proven EMDR therapy to systematically target them. The results are measurable, evidenced by deeper calm and clarity of mind.

Anxiety and stress are a part of everday life and effect all of us. The key is how you deal with your anxiety and stress. Many times the things we are most anxious about are things that we either have no control over or things that have gotten really big in our minds. Stress also has a variety of causes, both real and imagined. No matter what the issue is, I can help you put it into perspective by pointing out that which you have no control over, pulling the issue apart so you can understand what is your responsibility and using deep breathing methods to help calm you down. Reducing your level of stress and anxiety will make you happier and healthier.
