I do not specialize in treating Christian clients, however I do work with Christians whose background in line with teachings of tolerance. I deal with Christians who are struggling with sexual and/or gender identity issues. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space to explore one's beliefs in God, the church, and their sexual identity or gender identity. I am have worked with these issues for over 25 years and identity issues are a specialty of mine. I am also a specialist and certified expert in the treatment of childhood abuse, trauma, sexual abuse and sexual trauma of males and females. I offer both individual and group therapy along with a variety of different approaches. I CAN HELP!

My doctoral studies at Biola University, working at various Christian counseling centers, and teaching at Christian universities have combined to help me understand and appreciate how psychology and theology are intimately connected. In addition to a Ph.D. in Conflict Analysis & Resolution, I hold a Masters of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. I have served as a pastor for 10 years. Later, I went on to develop the "Reconciliation Model of Peacemaking" for my doctoral dissertation. Each stage of the model, which correlates to modern peacemaking practice, finds its roots in Biblical theology. I integrate best practices and a Biblical perspective to help couples reduce conflict, rebuild their emotional bond, and experience peace.

A Christian Counselor is different than a counselor who is a Christian. Counselors are taught to not push their faith or value system on clients.
