Life path and career/work struggles can both result from distress in relationships and precipitate distress. Support in addressing these issues can have a signifiacant positive impact on overall relationship functioning. The fact that relationships are one of our primary coping mechanisms multiplies the potential distress when these are present as they impacts the very mechanisms we use to cope.

So often a young person is confused by the directions they have to choose from when thinking of a career. My approach, that I think benefits Clients is that the first career doesn't have to be where they are stuck for the rest of their lives. So many are switching careers that the person in a forty year job is rare these days.
