Individuals change careers now more than ever; there’s an incredible amount of options in a rapidly changing landscape. And yet, there can also be stifling logistical constraints, a lack of opportunities, and precarious markets. Careers play a huge role in a person's life and can become a source of conflict if the person is unhappy with their chosen path, co-workers/boss, position, income, growth, and/or required efforts/hours. I help clients navigate their personal career struggles to find solutions to their turmoil. For some that looks like finding a better suited career while for others it can be communication strategies to help them resolve the issues at their current employment. Whatever the case, we develop a clear plan to resolve the career issue at hand.

We offer Type B tools and evaluations to evaluate behavior, career aspirations, personality traits, personal preference, and career counselling. We offer standardized tests to evaluate each individual in order to assist you in identifying patterns, beliefs, and the origin of your thoughts and desires as a human. There is often a difference between what we WANT to do and what we are GOOD at performing. We might love the idea of being a teacher, but lack patience. Career counselling may involve exploring career direction and it may also involve dealing with issues that occur in one's working life, such as those in the workplace. When exploring a career path, the client's whole self needs to be taken into consideration, including one's history and dreams (waking and sleeping.) Of particular importance is one's "inner voice" which may be calling one in a particular direction. Work situations often open up old wounds and therefore often provide an opportunity for healing and transformation.

Also, career counseling can assist students interested in choosing an academic major or graduate program, identifying potential careers or areas of professional interest, or working to integrate their academic and/or professional pursuits with their broader life choices.

I can assist in setting short term and long term goals, as well as creating an action plan to get you on track to working towards achieving the career you desire. We apply Design Thinking to reframe obstacles to opportunities in creative ways that may be impossible to imagine now. Then we design plans to give you the inspiration and practical experiences that prove what career decision will bring you the greatest happiness, fulfillment, and reward.

Having worked in the finance industry for many years, I help clients remove their blocks, create clarity and help with work towards their career(dream job). My treatment involves having the client work on: financial plan that includes their goals. We go through obstacles and mental blocks; and their fears of success. Together we complete a Career Development Workbook, uncovering inclinations and passions using talking and connection to self and others as our tools. Once up to 3 career choices have been made, a referral to Workplace BC is often helpful for the next steps in market and career research for your choices.
