Career counselling has never been more important because our life journeys have never been more complex. Individuals change careers now more than ever; there’s an incredible amount of options in a rapidly changing landscape. And yet, there can also be stifling logistical constraints, a lack of opportunities, and precarious markets. I want to help you find a place where you feel accomplished, confident, valuable, and satisfied—but I know that is easier said than done. I can help you experiment, cope, succeed, and find a path that feels right. I work particularly well with students, young professionals, and graduate students.

Career counselling may involve exploring career direction and it may also involve dealing with issues that occur in one's working life, such as those in the workplace. When exploring a career path, the client's whole self needs to be taken into consideration, including one's history and dreams (waking and sleeping.) Of particular importance is one's "inner voice" which may be calling one in a particular direction. Work situations often open up old wounds and therefore often provide an opportunity for healing and transformation.

Maybe as a child you dreamed about having a great life of abundance and achieve greatness. At that age, you were a winner and you would stand up and defend your dreams against any challenges. Unfortunately, lots of people may lose some of that winning spirit growing up and the champion in you may have slowly dimed. Maybe you do set goals and you do have an idea of what your purpose and direction in life is. This simply is not enough for you to experience the abundance in life that you deserve. You have all the potential to radically make a difference! It is already deep inside of you and waiting to be used. Together, we will work toward using that amazing potential.

I support clients navigating career transitions and managing work stress by creating a safe space to explore their goals, values, and challenges. Together, we work to identify what’s no longer serving them and develop a clear path forward, whether that’s exploring new career options, setting boundaries, or finding more balance in their work-life dynamics. I use a strengths-based approach to help clients recognize their skills and capabilities, empowering them to build confidence and resilience in the face of change. By addressing the root causes of stress & providing practical strategies for coping, I aim to help clients feel more grounded, clear-headed, & in control as they navigate change.

She works collaboratively with clients to consider all options, develop actionable strategies, and create a clear plan forward in their chosen field. Career counselling has progressed away from computer generated test scores and more along the lines of inquiry to individual likes and tendencies. This is the approach I adopt. Together we complete a Career Development Workbook, uncovering inclinations and passions using talking and connection to self and others as our tools. Once up to 3 career choices have been made, a referral to Workplace BC is often helpful for the next steps in market and career research for your choices.
